The new Turkish ID looks like a U.S. driver’s license and has a chip. It has your Turkish ID number written on it. If your Turkish ID is a booklet or a blue or pink card or doesn’t have your Turkish ID, you must apply for a new Turkish ID. If you need to issue a power of attorney, you must have a new Turkish ID.
How to get a new Turkish ID
- Schedule your Turkish ID appointment at the Turkish Consulate via www.konsolosluk.gov.tr. You must know your Turkish ID number to schedule an appointment.
- You must come to the Consulate in person to give your fingerprints. Bring your valid (A U.S. passport or any other country’s valid passport is acceptable) passport 2 passport-size photos, your state ID or DL, and the Consulate processing fees in cash to your appointment. You can expect to be at the Consulate for about an hour for your appointment.
- The Turkish Consulate, Los Angeles, is located at 8500 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 900, Beverly Hills, CA 90211
- After the Consulate accepts your application, your new Turkish ID will arrive at the Consulate in about 3 weeks. The Consulate emails you and reminds you to come to pick it up. Please note if you don’t intend to go in person to pick up your ID, you must designate a person to pick up your new ID. We can pick up your Turkish ID and mail it to you.
