What to expect on the day of your appointment
- You’ll meet your interpreter in the hallway of the Turkish Consulate on the 9th floor. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
- The address of the Consulate is 8500 Wilshire Blvd. Ste 900 Beverly Hills, CA 90211
- You’ll walk into the waiting room inside the Turkish Consulate with your interpreter.
- You’ll submit your original documents, including but not limited to your Turkish ID, to the Consulate officer. We’ll let you know what additional original documents you must bring in advance.
- Per your specifications, the Turkish Consulate officer will prepare the draft power of attorney.
- Once we receive the draft power of attorney, the interpreter will provide you with a verbal summary translation. It’s NOT a sentence-by-sentence translation. It’s a summary translation of each paragraph. You’ll have a chance to ask questions. You’ll review all demographic information on the draft power of attorney, such as dates, ID numbers, and names. We recommended emailing or sending the draft to your attorneys/agents in Turkey via WhatsApp for their approval. You can request modifications to the POA text before you sign. Please note that we can NOT make any changes once the POA is signed. If you need to make changes, you’ll need to apply for a new POA.
- Once you approve the draft POA, the Consulate officer will bring the original POA for you and the interpreter to sign.
- Once you and the interpreter sign the POA, the Consulate will sign and stamp the POA and will give you an original copy.
- Your POA will be registered in the Turkish Republic Notary Database within three business days. Your agents in Turkey can get a certified copy of your POA in Turkey from a local notary public office. You may not need to mail your POA to Turkey.
